After the long wait of 2 years from its introduction at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show, the first MG6 is down for its production next week at the Longbridge plant, the Chinese owned company. This is a 4 door hatch back called as “Sports Fastback” by the company, a companion to Shanghai Auto’s Roewe 550 sedan.

Both include the same engines, aspirated and turbocharged 1.8 litre four cylinder units.

For the European market, it was originally said by SAIC that the MG6 would begin U.K. production in late 2010.
